FIT Korea Graduate Changshin Park Wins Finalist Place In Supima Design Competition
SUNY Korea FIT alumnus Changshin Park, who graduated with a BFA in Fashion Design in 2023, has achieved a remarkable milestone with his 2026 Supima Design Competition collection, Carapace, securing a finalist position with his unique design elements such as bold silhouettes and origami-inspired patterns. Originally from Daegu, South Korea, Changshin Park furthered his educational path in Japan and New York, where his international perspective and creativity were embraced. After studying international tourism in Japan, Changshin’s passion for fashion started to grow, which eventually brought him to the Fashion Institute of Technology, where he pursued his fashion design education. His design collection is distinguished by innovative structures of silhouettes and architectural volume, created through a unique pattern making process inspired by 3D origami. Each of his 5 designs have their own strong characteristics based on the fabric used, under the unified direction derived from his original style. The Supima design competition encourages fashion design graduates like him to start their career by introducing their collections to the industry. The competition functions as an international showcase with a high profile presentation for initiating designers, with the addition of financial support. FIT Korea Alumni Anezka Rysava and Jamie Han Named 2026 CFDA Scholars
SUNY Korea is proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of two Fashion Design alumni, Anezka Rysava and Jamie (Yoonseo) Han, who have been recognized through prestigious 2026 scholarship programs supporting the next generation of fashion designers. Both Anezka and Jamie began their fashion design education through the AAS program at FIT SUNY Korea before continuing their BFA studies at FIT in New York. Presented by the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), the scholarship supports the next generation of emerging fashion designers and recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional creativity, craftsmanship, and a distinctive design perspective. The 2026 CFDA Scholarship marked the 30th anniversary of the scholarship fund and featured one of its most competitive selection processes to date. Nearly 700 students from 29 schools across the United States submitted applications, and the selected finalists presented their work to specialized selection committees. The committees brought together leading figures from across the fashion industry, including designers, CFDA members, executives, stylists, editors, and educators. From this highly competitive pool, Anezka was selected as part of the 2026 class of CFDA Scholars, receiving a $40,000 scholarship. She was also selected to complete a summer internship with the Carolina Herrera design team in Manhattan. Jamie was selected as part of the inaugural class of recipients of the Melvin and Monique Rodriguez Family Foundation Scholarship, a three-year scholarship supporting BFA and BA fashion design students. SUNY Korea congratulates Anezka and Jamie on these remarkable accomplishments and looks forward to following their continued success and contributions to the fashion industry.
