[ Program Overview ]

1. Project Title: Development of Explainable Multimodal Deepfake Manipulation Detection Technology (Video/voice/text multimodal deepfake illegal video detection technology that can provide high detection accuracy and intuitive explanations of authenticity for deepfake manipulated videos)

2. Project Goal: Research and development of technology to detect deepfake manipulation videos with high accuracy by integrating and analyzing various modality data such as video, voice, and text, and provide intuitive explanations through bounding boxes, captions, etc. to help users easily understand the detected manipulation parts.

3. Funding Structure

  • Duration: 3 years (Sept. 1, 2025 – Aug. 31, 2028)

  • Total Funding: KRW 1.623 billion

    • Year 1: 6 months / KRW 271 million

    • Year 2: 10 months / KRW 451 million

    • Year 3: 12 months / KRW 541 million

    • Year 4: 8 months / KRW 360 million    

※ Funding period and amount may be subject to change depending on government policy and annual budget availability.

4. Project TypeSeparate Joint Call

  • Korean institutions will receive funding from IITP

  • Singaporean institutions will receive funding from AI Singapore

※ Singaporean institutions must include an industry (company) participant.

6. Research Stage: Applied Research (TRL 4–6)
7. Eligibility: No restriction for Korean institutions

 

[ Application Requirements ]

1. Consortium Formation: Korean and Singaporean research institutions must form a single joint team and submit a joint proposal.

  • The proposal must include both the Korean and Singaporean Principal Investigators and follow the designated application format (Form 1).

    • The Korean section and joint research plan should be clearly distinguished.

    • The form must be based on the Korean research institution's standards.

 

2. Submission Procedure:

  • Joint research content must be pre-coordinated between the institutions.

  • The Korean institution must submit the required documents through IRIS (IITP portal).

  • The Singaporean institution must follow submission instructions as per the Singaporean announcement (via AI Singapore).

※ Only consortiums that submit to both countries will be considered for evaluation.

※ The Singaporean research proposal (Annex 3) should be attached to the end of Form 1.

 

3. Additional Notes:

  • Upon selection, the Korean institution must submit an international joint research agreement (including IP terms) at the time of contract.
