2026 Frontier Convergence S&T Program: Technology Demand Survey

The National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF) is conducting a Technology Demand Survey to plan new projects for the 2026 Frontier Convergence Science and Technology Development Program (Pioneer-Type, Strategic Area). This survey serves as a critical foundation for future national R&D support opportunities in AI and humanoid robotics.

1. Key Research Areas

  • Autonomous Data Generation & Learning: Technologies enabling robots to generate and learn from self-experienced data without simulators or human-annotated sets.

  • Real-time Multi-sensory Integration: Synchronizing multimodal data (vision, hearing, touch, etc.) for human-like reasoning and environmental prediction.

  • Humanoid-specific Physical AI: Lightweight models that structure self-experienced data for real-time adaptability without massive computing resources.

  • Robot-to-Robot Swarm Control: Collaborative technologies for autonomous cooperation among multiple robots in dynamic environments.

  • General-purpose Humanoids: Any innovative technologies enabling human-level intelligence and actions in humanoid platforms.

2. Participation Details

  • Target: Faculty and researchers interested in AI humanoid R&D or next-generation convergence technologies.

  • Purpose: To reflect expert demand in the planning of future national R&D support programs.
