SBU Visit Policy

The SUNY Korea-Stony Brook (SBU) programs require students to complete one year of study at Stony Brook University in the United States. To participate, students must provide proof of sufficient financial resources to obtain the required U.S. visa.

All visits to SBU must commence in the Fall semester and continue for two consecutive semesters.

Academic Requirements

Students must complete all pre-academic requirements at SUNY Korea by the end of the Spring semester preceding their visit to the SBU campus:

  • 1) Cumulative GPA: 2.0 or higher
  • 2) Academic Level: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior Status
  • 3) Required Courses (grade of C or higher):
  • ACC 210 Financial Accounting 
  • BUS 215 Introduction to Business Statistics 
  • BUS 220 Introduction to Decision Sciences 
  • BUS 330 Principles of Finance 
  • BUS 346 Operations Management 
  • BUS 348 Principles of Marketing
  • ECO 110 Introduction to Microeconomics 
  • ECO 111 Introduction to Macroeconomics 
  • WRT 102 Intermediate Writing Workshop

Note: Students whose catalog year is prior to Fall 2025 may fulfill ECO 110 and ECO 111 requirements by completing ECO 108.
